Established in 1961, Notah Dineh Trading Company is a family-owned business in Cortez, Colorado. Founded by Bob Leighton and later joined by his sons Gregg and Glenn. Notah Dineh was built on the belief that great Native American art tells a timeless story going back generations that deserves to be preserved and honored. For almost 65 years, Notah-Dineh has worked directly with Native artists, valuing fair compensation, strong relationships, and the
cultural traditions behind each piece.

We specialize in authentic Native American art, including but not limited to: Handwoven Navajo rugs, kachinas, pottery, beadwork, paintings, and sterling silver turquoise jewelry. Every item is handcrafted, rooted in tradition and tells a story worth passing down.

Our Mission

Here at Notah-Dineh we thrive on supporting local artists and their work. We guarentee all of our pieces are genuine, handmade items made by various Native American silversmiths.

We are based in Cortez, Colorado; just 34 miles from the famous 4 Corners Monument and less than 50 miles away from the Navajo Nation.

Stones and Materials

We assure that all of our items are made from Sterling Silver and are tested, if not, stamped. We also assure that all of our stones are genuine and real; we carry a diverse collection of turquoise along with so much more.

All stones listed are based on educated judgement based on prior knowledge on stones. Turquoise is found all over the world, and with our resources, we strive to give you the best and closest prediction of each piece.

Damages and Repairs

Our goal at Notah-Dineh is to keep customers satisfied with their pieces. If there are any damages or imperfections on jewlery you have purchased, we guarentee to fix the item for up to 1 year from purchase date for free (just pay shipping).

Expect to wait 8-12 weeks for items to be fully repaired due to high demand.

Certificate of Authenticity

Each item purchased from Notah Dineh will recieve a signed certificate of authenticity upon request. This is our promise to customers that our mechandise is genuine and handcrafted.

Returns and Exchanges

If you are unhappy with your purchase, or your piece is not what you expected (size, color, etc.) please contact us so we can send you a return shipping label. Unfortunately at this time we do not offer refunds due to the nature of being taken advantage of. Don't see something you'd like to exchange for now? No problem! We can store your information for store credit at a later date!
